Data Management

INTRODUCTION

A robust Data Management system has been developed to accurately manage the availability, location, history and condition of all stored material – ensuring value of stored material is maintained and selection of samples for further analysis may be based on suitability not just availability.

Additional services available from consultancy to support of legislative requirements allows Kirk Petrophysics to effectively offer a complete solution for the management of all sample material.

SAMPLE TRACKING AND CONDITION MANAGEMENT

Close liaison with the client and wellsite team enables samples to be tracked from generation at the wellsite through the analytical program to final archive storage. Any subsamples produced as part of the program are similarly tracked – ensuring no material is lost. Barcoding may be utilized to improve efficiency.

Sample tracking

Sample condition is pro-actively monitored - sample maintenance may include reboxing or re-wrapping of core to limit degradation. Innovative techniques may also be employed such as vacuum packing and stabilization using Lithotarge.

CONSULTANCY AND LEGISLATIVE REQUIREMENTS

Kirk Petrophysics are able to advise on all aspects of sample storage, transfer and management including condition management, extending to assessment of clients own facilities and procedures. Kirk Petrophysics may also advise on centralizing material, at the same time tracing missing samples.

Legislative requirements (Such as data submissions for PON 9 covering UKCS data) may be conducted by Kirk Petrophysics, removing the burden from the data owner.
