The portable Schmidt Hammer can be used at the laboratory or the wellsite to provide high resolution rock strength profiles or single point analysis. When used alongside other rapid data acquisition techniques available such as mini permeametry or gamma logging faster decision making is enabled.

The above techniques can be correlated with conventional analytical methods and presented against well log data and Core Photographs.
