A robust data management system has been developed to accurately manage the availability, history and condition of all stored material – ensuring both that the value of stored material is maintained, and that the selection of samples for further analysis can be based on suitability, not just availability.
Additional services, from consultancy to expert support in meeting legislative requirements, mean we effectively offer a complete solution for the management of all sample material.
Close liaison with the client and wellsite team enables samples to be tracked from generation at the wellsite through the analytical programme to final archive storage. Any subsamples produced as part of the programme are similarly tracked – ensuring no material is lost. Barcoding can be used to improve efficiency.
Sample condition is pro-actively monitored – sample maintenance can include reboxing or re-wrapping of core to limit degradation. Innovative techniques, such as vacuum packing and stabilisation using Lithotarge™, may also be deployed.
We are able to advise on all aspects of sample storage, transfer and management. These include condition management, and extend to assessing our customers’ own facilities and procedures. We can also advise on centralising material, at the same time tracing missing samples.
We can remove the burden from the data owner by addressing legislative requirements (such as data submissions for PON 9 covering UKCS data) on their behalf.
