Core Photography

The Core Photography Studio images offer the opportunity to conduct very efficient and rational core plugging and SCAL sampling, either at the rig site or later in the lab. The images speed up the process by helping to identify zones of interest.

The Core Photography Studio output is a flexible format continuous log offering the opportunity to integrate various comments and data such as E-logs, lithological descriptions, Image Logs, etc.

Core Imaging 360º

Core Imaging offers high resolution digital colour photographs of core either in rotation mode or in section mode slabbed or whole core. The compact and flexible portable system can be used at the laboratory or wellsite.

It is used for Sedimentological investigations, calibration of geophysical borehole measurements, geological investigations of underground storage facilities for oil and gas, and many other applications.

Xtrem UV™

Xtrem UV™ is applied by taking white light and UV photographs of the exposed ends of core sections. For this purpose, a specially designed portable unit and a high-resolution camera are used that allow photographs to be taken under both visible and ultraviolet lighting conditions. The portable unit does not require the core section to be moved or handled which is extremely important for maintaining core integrity.

Xtrem UV™ allows the capture of core features such as lithology, sedimentary structures, the extent of mud invasion and fluorescence coloring and intensity.

Panoramic Core

This exclusive service from Kirk Petrophysics offers a panoramic view of the core just minutes after the core has been processed and whilst it is still positioned on the core lay down cradle.

Used in combination with the Half MoonTM technology, a support mounted on rollers is run along the cradle length and photos taken using a high resolution digital camera.
