Core Acquisition Program

It is widely acknowledged that appropriate core handling is critical to the retention of core integrity. Unfortunately, not all cores are treated appropriately to ensure that accurate and representative data can be subsequently obtained from core samples. To this end Kirk Petrophysics™ is able to offer the design and implementation of a fully comprehensive core acquisition program which integrates all aspects of the coring operation in order to maximise the chance of success.

Consultancy

Performing appropriate procedures at the wellsite is key for the success of any core analysis program. Kirk Petrophysics™ are not only able to conduct the analyses, but also ensure the core analysis program is designed to match the best coring procedures. To assist in this task an experienced coring supervisor, wellsite geologist and core analysis specialist are available to assist with program design and management.

Third Party Quality Control

Mishandling, last minute changes to the program and improper preparation are just some examples of detrimental factors which may cause irreversible damage to the core - and affect the formation evaluation program.

While operating at the wellsite Kirk Petrophysics™ always provides third party quality control. The entire coring operation is evaluated in detail and a report submitted to the client. To further support quality control a system called PIN (Process Improvement Note) has been implemented which enables the identification of any issues requiring immediate corrective action. This system has been proven in the field over the last decade - bringing real value in ensuring any issues are identified and rectified.
